Leadership

Shane Larson
Founder & President

Shane grew up in Utah but started his career in New York City, working in fashion design, display, and product development for the likes of Ralph Lauren and Bloomingdale’s. There, he developed a keen interest in furniture, architecture, and fine art that eventually led him back to Salt Lake City to focus on fine-tuning his metal fabrication skills. He created custom sculptures and architectural pieces for art galleries and private clients, eventually establishing a design company – WSL Design – to build his practice.

During his 15-year run as head of WSL, Shane reached a turning point while creating custom flowerpots for a client. Designing plant containers allowed him to hone his skills and build a product line that expressed his passion for beautifying environments. Shane focused on this idea and experimented until it became a full-time endeavor. He founded Ore in 2003, and in the years since, he and the Ore team have worked together to become experts in their field, consistently producing on-point, high-quality solutions for a discerning clientele.

Cultivating collaborative relationships is at the heart of Shane’s approach to design and business. He sees clients as partners who come to Ore to help them meet challenges and fully realize their design vision. Ore brings extensive expertise in metalworking, design, and the landscape architecture industry to the table, with an attitude that anything can be done and done well. “I’m wired to do something new and different all the time, says Shane. “'No' does not exist here. We can figure it out.”
